Dolly Run 2026 Brings Music, Costumes to Lake Charles

🐊 KNGT 🐊 | Lake Charles, LA — If you’re lookin for something fun to do in Lake Charles… and maybe burn off a little of that crawfish weight… this one right here might be your kinda morning.

The United Way of Southwest Louisiana is gearing up for the Dolly Run on April 18, 2026, and let me tell ya… this ain’t your normal 5K.

This is a full-on Dolly Parton party on the streets of downtown.

We’re talkin a 3.1-mile run or walk that rolls right through the heart of Lake Charles. And don’t worry… you don’t have to be some marathon pro to enjoy it. If you can walk, you’re in. If you can jog, even better. If you just wanna show up dressed like Dolly and have a good time… you might be doing it exactly right.

Grab ya a big wig, and a sparkly outfit cause they giving away awards for best dresed. You know folks around here gonna show out for that.

And it ain’t just about running.

They’re gonna have a DJ and karaoke setup, so if you’ve ever wanted to belt out “Jolene” in front of a crowd… well, here’s your shot. No judgment… just good times.

Dont forget about the Book Donation Station set up at the event. All those books are going straight to local teachers to help build classroom libraries. That part right there… that’s what makes this event really special.

What is a Dolly Run in Lake Charles?

The United Way Southwest Louisiana uses this event to support programs that help about 3,480 kids every single month. We’re talkin real impact… helping kids learn to read and love it.

The race starts around 815 Ryan Street in downtown Lake Charles, and the course is officially measured… so for you runners out there, yeah, it counts.

So here’s what you need to do:
Grab your best Dolly Parton outfit. Call up your friends. Maybe practice a little karaoke in the truck on the way.
